学习策略,是指在学习情境中,学习者对学习任务的认识,对学习方法的调控和对学习过程的调控。在小学英语课堂教学中,教师应培养学生认真思考的能力,通过思考可以不断解开疑团,激发灵感,从而有所创造。善于联想,有利于学生独立创造、独立探索和自主创新能力养成的,从而提高创新意识和动手实践能力,对所学习内容能主动练习和实践。“chant”是小学生喜闻乐见的学习方式,明快的节奏,学生读起来琅琅上口。“chant”还具有浓郁的趣味性和极强的魅力,恰当的使用它,不但可以活跃课堂气氛,而且可以提高学生的口语交际能力。在英语课堂教学中,我经常运用“chant”学习策略,打造高效英语课堂。比如在进行动物类单词的学习时,我就根据已学动物名称,引导学生根据动物的特征编了一个“chant”,并在全班展示:小鸟bird, 天上飞;小猫cat,地上跑;小狗dog, 汪汪叫;猴子monkey, 树上跳;大象elephant, 鼻子长;斑马zebra, 黑白条;老虎tiger, 兽中王;熊猫panda, 是国宝。学生们对这些动物的特征非常熟悉,所编的“chant”读起来也朗朗上口,课堂学习效率明显得到了提高。在小学英语课堂教学中,重、难点的突破,仅靠教师多次强调或者反复单调的讲解是没有多少实效的。根据学生的兴趣、年龄特征,设置生动的操练环节,运用富有感染力“chant”来有效地分解教学难点,往往会达到事半功倍的效果。例如,学习了季节之后,我就先给学生们示范,编了一个关于春天的chant:Spring, spring, I like spring. Boating, boating, we like boating.并然后引导学生们在小组内创编其它三个季节的chant,并在全班展示。因为“chant”的节奏性强,易上口,所以学生们都兴趣盎然,很快就创编出关于其它三个季节的“chant”:Summer, summer, I like summer. Swimming, swimming, we like swimming. Autumn, autumn, I like autumn. Climbing, climbing, we like climbing. Winter, winter, I like winter. Skating, skating, we like skating. 之后,我又结合每个季节的活动特点,引导学生们通过小组活动,在小组内对四个季节的活动进行替换。学生们对每个季节的活动早已了然于胸,因此替换起来也得心应手:Spring, spring, I like spring. Kites, kites,we fly kites. Ice creams, ice creams,we eat ice creams.Autumn, autumn, I like autumn. Picnics, picnics, we have picnics. Winter, winter, I like winter. Snowmen, snowmen, we make snowmen.明快的节奏,优美的旋律,抑扬顿挫的语调,像哗哗流淌的流水,给人快感,再加上手舞足蹈就调动了孩子们所有的感官,使学生在不知不觉中记住了新单词和新词组。“chant”使枯燥无味的单词和词组教学变成生动有趣的课堂活动,同时也提高了英语课堂学习效率。
