表示但是的单词：but, whereas, yet, however, nonetheless 这组词都有“但是，可是，然而，而”的意思，其区别是：whereas 表对比，一般可与while互换。nevertheless 指尽管作出完全让步，也不会发生任何影响。but 口语常用词，语气较强，泛指与前述情况相反。however 表转折关系，语气稍弱于but，连接性也弱一些，因而常作插入语。still 语气强，多用于肯定句或疑问句。指尽管作出让步，采取措施或表示反对，但情况仍然如故，无所改变。while表对比，一般可与whereas换用，但程度弱一些。yet 常用于否定句，语气比still稍强。指不管作出多大努力或让步，仍达不到预期的结果。例句：1. 我在后面叫你， 但是你没有听到。 I called after you, but you did not hear.2. 这是一个尴尬的局面， 但是他们成功地应付过去了。 It was an embarrassing situation, but they carried it off well.希望能对你有帮助，谢谢

But there are still some nimor flaws.little 指体积，形态上的小，而非程度上的小。不能直译成little.

不好意思，但有些话我必须说。

4、however

表转折关系，语气稍弱于but，连接性也弱一些，因而常作插入语。

However carefully I explained, she still didn't understand.

无论我解释得多么仔细，她还是没弄懂。

5、yet

常用于否定句，语气比still稍强。指不管做出多大努力或让步，仍达不到预期的结果。

It was an historic day, yet its passing was not marked by the slightest excitement

那是具有历史意义的一天，但是一天过去了，也没有一丝的兴奋激动。
