英语介词一般用于名词或者代词前面,表示该词与句中其他成分的关系。介词后面的名词或代词称为介词宾语。介词可以分为时间介词、地点介词、方式介词、原因介词、数量介词和其他介词。
介词的分类
单个的介词,如: in,on,with,by,for,at,about,under,of等;
复合介词,例如:into,within,throughout,inside,outside,without等;
短语介词,如:out of, because of, away from, on top of, ever since, next to, according to, in front of等。
表示时间
1、表示在某时间.常用介词at,on,in等。
2、表示 期间 常用介词during,for,over,within,throughout,from和to等。
3、表示其他时间概念的介词有before,after,since,until,till,between,up to等
表示方位
1、at,in,on,to,for
2、above,over,on 在上
3、below,under 在下面
4、in front[frant]of,in the front of在前面
5、beside,behind beside 表示在旁边 behind 表示在后面
表示进行
作为表语时,英语介词可以表示正在“进行”的动作。如:He is at work. (他正在工作。)
表示原因
表示原因常用的介词有for等。
表示方法
表示“方法,手段”的介词常用by,with,through等

表示数量的常用介词有about(around),over等
与不及物动词搭配
不及物动词不能够直接跟宾语,且没有被动语态。但是和介词搭配后,不及物动词不但可以跟宾语,也有了被动语态。

1. 介词与形容词
(1) 有些形容词要求与一定的介词搭配。

2. 介词与动词
(1)动词+介词:

You can appeal to higher court. 你可以向更高法院上诉。
(2)动词+宾语+介词:
We should prevent factories from polluting the environment.
我们应该防止这些工厂污染环境。
My friends took me into their confidence.我的朋友们相信我。
(3)动词+副词+介词:
Try your best to catch up with your classmates. 尽全力追上同学们。
We should get along with each other. 我们应该和睦相处。
(4)动词+宾语+副词+介词:
He is a bad boy and always puts something over on others. 他是个调皮的孩子,总是捉弄别人。
You cannot take your resentment out on me. 你不能拿我泄愤。
3. 介词与名词
(1)名词+介词:
Please find a solution to this problem as soon as possible. 请尽快找到这个问题的解决方法。
(2)介词+名词:
To my surprise, he passed the exam. 令我惊讶的是,他通过了考试。
We will do everything at your request. 我们会满足你的所有要求。
