Canal），是中国东部平原上的伟大工程，是中国古代劳动人民创造的一项伟大的水利建筑，为世界上最长的运河，也是世界上开凿最早、规模最大的运河。大运河始建于公元前486年，包括隋唐大运河、京杭大运河和浙东大运河三部分，全长2700公里，跨越地球10多个纬度，地跨北京、天津、河北、山东、河南、安徽、江苏、浙江8个省、直辖市，纵贯在中国华北大平原上，通达海河、黄河、淮河、长江、钱塘江五大水系，是中国古代南北交通的大动脉，至2020年大运河历史延续已2500余年。2014年6月22日，大运河在第38届世界遗产大会上获准列入世界遗产名录，成为中国第46个世界遗产项目。最终列入申遗范围的大运河遗产分布在中国2个直辖市、6个省、25个地级市。申报的系列遗产分别选取了各河段的典型河道段落和重要遗产点，包括河道遗产27段，总长度1011公里，相关遗产共计58处。介绍Canal is the longest Canal in the world, and also the earliest and largest Canal in the world.The Grand Canal was built in 486 B. C., consisting of the Grand Canal of Sui and Tang Dynasties, the Grand Canal of Beijing and Hangzhou, and the Grand Canal of East Zhejiang. It is 2,700 kilometers in length, spanning more than 10 latitudes of the earth and eight provinces and municipalities directly under the Central Government including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and runs across the Great Plain of North China. Connecting the Haihe river, the Yellow River, the Huaihe River, the Yangtze River and the Qiantang River, the grand Canal was the artery of north-south transportation in ancient China. By 2020, the grand Canal had a history of more than 2,500 years.On June 22, 2014, the Grand Canal was approved to be inscribed on the World Heritage List at the 38th World Heritage Conference, becoming the 46th World Heritage project in China. The heritage of the Grand Canal, which will be included in the UNESCO world Heritage list, is distributed in two municipalities, six provinces and 25 prefecture-level cities in China. Typical river sections and important heritage sites of each reach were selected for the declared series of heritage sites, including 27 river heritage sites with a total length of 1,011 km and 58 related heritage sites.
