All South Africans are proud of their country. We have a fantastically beautiful country with spectacular nature, flora and fauna. But many South Africans are ashamed of the government with its corruption and not fulfilling many of its promises made to the people almost 2 decades ago.The present generation of young adults all grew up in the "new" South Africa, and have slowly become accustomed to racial mixing. There is the choice of "take it or leave it". Those who "take" it are getting on with their lives and the progress of the new "Rainbow Nation". Those who have decided to "leave" it, will remain stagnant and backward in their views, sadly. They will never want to think differently. Fact is, with so many younger people in mixed relationships, many of the conservative bunch are sometimes faced with such situations within their own families. Then it is a case of adapt and accept, or lose out and be left alone.Of course, as Mother Nature intended, we are generally attracted to partners of our own race, so a lot of conflict is avoided, especially in groups where the families are very strict about with whom their offspring cohabit.But, on the whole, those who have ventured into multi-culti/multiracial partnerships are accepted by society.
