The Palace Museum is also called the Forbidden City,which started to be built in 1407.It took 200,000 people fourteen years to build it.It was finished in 1420.There are 9,999 rooms in all the palaces.In China,nine is regarded as a lucky number traditionally.At present,it is free for Chinese students to visit every Tuesday.The Palace Museum has treasures of over 5,000 years' history.

去年暑假，爸爸和我去参观闻名世界的北京故宫。
我们到达故宫的后门，买好票，请了一个导游，就进了雄伟的故宫后门。
首先展现在我眼前的是一棵大槐树。
导游说：“当年崇桢皇帝就是吊死在这棵树上的”。
我们随着导游继续走，到了坤宁宫，坤宁宫是皇妃住的地方，这里风景优美，有许多枝繁叶茂的树木。
这些房子大约有三米高，皇后就住在靠南方向的屋子里。
对面是嫔妃住的西六宫，那里的屋子很暗，也很小。
穿过书斋，就到了乾清宫，这是皇上上早朝的地方，乾清宫的正前方摆着一张镀金做的精美的龙椅。
龙椅上刻有许多龙，有的龙双龙戏珠，有的龙互相缠绕，真是维妙维肖。
我抬头往上一看，墙上有一块大大的匾，匾上写着“正大光明”四个大字，每当上朝时，“正大光明”这块匾就面对着各位大臣，仿佛告诫这些大臣们：“凡是做事，都要正大光明的做。
”我站在乾清宫中间，仿佛看到了当时的皇上和众位大臣商议朝政时的气势。
随后，导游还带我们参观了中和殿、保和殿等地方，最后，就到达了故宫的正门。
走出正门，我再一次回首遥望着这座古老的宫殿，心里默默的祝愿着：祝愿祖国繁荣富强，一代更比一代强。
