Toilet（英国的卫生间）在英国要想说 “厕所”可以用toilet，注意只有用其复数形式 “toilets” 的时候才可以表示 “由多个卫生间组成的公共厕所”。Toilet原本是单纯地指抽水马桶。所以在美国人心目中，这个单词仍然仅有“抽水马桶”含义，如果你问一个美国人“Where is the toilet?”一定会给他留下心理阴影，因为大部分美国人会觉得“toilet”太直白不文雅。 所以，在英国，toilet可以随便用；在美国可要慎重了！
