I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, P. R. China. With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.

Education background

In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excellent Graduation Thesis.

Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

为了让大家认识到英语在面试中的重要，求职君就拿对英语非常看重的四大来举例

大部分同学都知道英语对进四大的重要性，但英语好未必能通过四大的英文面试，而英文面试是每一位想进入四大必经的一道坎。

如果你的自我介绍被面试官打断了，99%是个失败的自我介绍。

“tell me yourself” 表面意思是自我介绍，言外之意是：告诉我一些你简历上没有的东西。

面试官阅人无数，他们一定是想从你的自我介绍中提取出有价值的信息，从而判断是否要深入了解你，是否适合这个岗位。

面试官感兴趣的是：

因此，自我介绍不是单纯地复述简历，不要事无巨细，碎碎念个没完。一定要简洁精炼，在短时间内把个人优势以及个人特点与职位要求最重合的部分最先展现出来。

首先，看一下什么样的自我介绍是没有特色的？

开头：Good morning! It is really my honor to have this opportunity for an interview, I hope i can make a good performance today. I’m confident that I can succeed...

且不说语法错误，光是内容上已经有两点不恰当的地方:

1、冗长。面试中的自我介绍本来就只有1-3分钟，说了半天还在说场面话，浪费自己的时间。

2、太hard sell。"I am confident that I can succeed." 面试官一听，第一反应就是“凭什么？” 给面试官太大的预期，只会让自己最终的表现相形见绌。相反，你应该用过往经历和实际表现证明你是最好最适合的候选人,。

网上有很多“英文自我介绍模板”，如果你仔细看会发现很多都是误导人的，错误示范看多只会加深错误印象，有害无益。

重点来了，下面求职君就重点来分享一下应该如何写出有自我特色的英文自我介绍。

1、开头记住3个关键词：

简单

自我介绍的前十几秒，面试官可能还在翻阅你的纸质简历，所以不太会留意你讲了什么。不过会仔细听你的名字以便核对手上的简历是否正确。如果面试官是歪果仁，而你的简历上没有写英文名字，你还可以顺带告知一下他们等会可以怎么称呼你。例如"Good morning everyone. I am xxx (full name). You can call me Vinia."

清晰

如果你发音很别扭，口齿不清，会造成很不好的第一印象。通常紧张的时候容易加快语速，这样又快又紧张，最后结局就很悲剧了。所以，为了吐字清晰，宁可说慢点。

准确

前面的错误示范中，语法错误包括"make a performance"，还有前面说“I hope I can”, 后面又说"I am confident I will"，前后态度不一致，有点类似中文的“我十分肯定他也许是错的”，怪怪的，这些都是会扣印象分的。开头几句是必须要很准确无误流畅地说出来，不仅留一个好的印象，对你自己而言也增强了自己的信心。

2、准备多长：

针对不同岗位需求准备不同版本自我介绍，四大的自我介绍一般都是1—3分钟，建议不要太长，准备的时候控制在1分钟左右。

3、介绍以往的经历，讲故事

这部分可以说是重头戏了。为了让我们的自我介绍更加生动吸引人，我们还需要“讲故事”，即把从自己想要表达的观点用一个故事印出来。

很多面试官都会仔细听你过往做过什么，然后根据你过往的行事风格、成就来判断你是否能胜任，或者与公司文化和理念相符。

而说到过往的项目介绍，这里就不得不提STAR策略。所谓STAR，它其实是Situation, Task, Action, Result的缩写。

S：情况，T：任务，A：行动，R：结果。

4、完美ending

和应聘的岗位匹配，总结一下之前自己提到的观点，然后表示感谢面试机会并表达期待加入公司。

5、反复练习

常用练习方法：

自我介绍的目的在于要让面试官对你产生比较深刻的印象，有一些基本原则需要遵循：没有语法错误，简洁精炼，立意明确，这才算是一个合格的自我介绍。
