Why learning English is important?Good morning ! Boys and girls,I am very very glad to go on the stage and tell something to you. I am so proud of my bravery. Because as you all know my English is so poor , especially my English pronunciation . But I still want to say something . Because I know , English is very important . I should practise myself, the more the better.As we all know, English is an international language, and it could be used all over the world. However, Spanish is the language that most people speak in the world, but why is English still the language that can be used in any country, any city, or even any town? So, the topic I'm going to discuss today is "Why learning English is important?” First of all, let's take a look at a few countries that use English as a second language, for instance, Malaysia and Japan. All students in these countries have to take English classes, just like they have to learn Mandarin, Malaysian and Japanese. This shows how much their education stresses the importance of the English language. In fact, most other countries in the world have the same point of view. This is also the reason why English is useful tool for traveling. Last year a friend of mine went to Japan, and since she doesn't speak Japanese, she had to communicate with the native people in English. From the above instance we know, English is very important when you're in another country, and don't know how to speak their native language. Well , we live Shanghai’s New District . the development and opening of Shanghai’s New District has become the symbol of china’s reform and opening , and a focus of world attention in the 1900’s . There are many foreigners coming form different countries in this New District . If you want to have good influence on them , you should speak English fluently , if you can . However , if your English is very poor , then you certainly can not do it easily . Even your appearance may reflect on the appearance of the whole people. So being a modern person , all of us should have a good everyday English .Let's take a recreational viewpoint. Things like books, magazines, TV, and radio programs have already become a part of many people's daily life. Many people enjoy reading, watching and listening to English books, TV shows and talk shows, and I of course am no exception. For example, I'm quite interested in reading William Shakespeare's famous novel "Romeo and Juliet”. I never thought that English could be used so beautifully without making it a poem. And you know , now Harry Potter is very popular with our class . Certainly , I like Harry Potter , too . I know there is much interesting information about it on the net. Maybe you have gone to the homepages about Harry Potter . They are the official websites. Harry Potter on the internet . There are many interesting games and stories in it . but it’s in English . You know I am not good at English , so I can’t understand these games well . I can’t play the games well , either . because the introductions are also written in English ,I can’t understand them , either . Think how poor I am ! Well, in an age of fast communication, almost every family has a computer , especially as a student of Jianping Middel School, every one of us has a computer and all of them connect to Internet. I myself have found English very important when I'm on the net, because large proportions of the homepages I find are in English. When I need to fine some data for my homework, the information I find on the Internet is often in English. Therefore to be an intellectual person, English is definitely the language you should know.Boys and girls, China has step up its process of globalization , so we must shoulder responsibilities to the worlds environment, peace and stability . We must learn more knowledge. Especially you must learn English well in order to communicate with others more easily. And you’ll also understand the culture of the United States of America if you know English .Then , you will get more fresh and new ideas. As everyone knows,English is very important today.It has been used everywhere in the world.It has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. If we can speak English well,we will have more chance to succeed.Because more and more people have taken notice of it,the number of the people who go to learn English has increased at a high speed.But for myself,I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness,but also because of my love for it.When I learn English, I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world.When I read English novels,I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation.When I speak English, I can feel the confident from my words.When I write English,I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese...I love English,it gives me a colorful dream.I hope I can travel around the world one day.
