1、分数词是以基数词和序数词合成的，基数词代表分子，序数词代表分母。基数词：one 、two、three、four……序数词：first、second、third、fourth、fifth……2、分子大于1时，分母需要用复数。例：3/4 three quarters（3/4相当于3个1/4 ,所以分要用复数）3、分数中的分母为2时，要用half 表示，不能用second ,因为second是一秒钟的意思。1/2 a half one half1/3 one third1/4 one quarter4、带有整数的分数，整数部分以基数来读，并用and和分数连接起来。例：5 2/3 five and two thirds5、表示百分之一可以说one(a)hundredth，但更常用one percent或per cent，即用百分数表示法来表达。例如：Seventy-five percent of the earth’ssur- face is covered by water.地球表面的75%被水覆盖着。6、名词part有“……分之一”的意思，分子大于1时，part用复数。例：a hundred part百分之一

分数在英语上的表达是，分子用基数词，分母用序数词。如1/5的表达是one fifth。
分子为1时，既可以用one，也可用a。如：The centimeter is one-tenth of the decimeter or one-hundredth of the meter.厘米是分米的十分之一，或者说是米的百分之一。
如果分子大于1，分母则要用复数形式。如：三分之一one-third；三分之二two-thirds。
小数和百分数的读法
表示小数时，小数点前面的基数词和前面讲的基数词的读法相同；小数点后的数字则必须一一读出。
0.0089→（zero ／naught）point zero zero eight nine。
1.36→one point three six。
百分数由percent表示，百分号％读作 percent，应用时常与by连用。
0.68％→zero point six eight percent。
6％→six percent。
369％→three hundred and sixty nine percent。
