后者。数百年，所以hundred加S如果是一百年就是a hundred years

表示虚数，要用复数，需加s

这好像不是不可能，但要花费数百年的时间。用英语表达：This seems not impossible, but it takes hundreds of years.

hundreds of 是固定搭配，表示很多~成百个。year是可数的，一年就不加，很多年，或者two years自然就要加咯。hundred单纯表示数量。比如one / two hundred 都不用加s。
