A 星期一，史密斯太太的狗饿了，但屋子里没有肉了。 想不到别的更好的办法，史密斯太太拿出了一张纸，并在上面写下了这样的话：“请给我的狗半英镑肉。”然后她把纸给狗并温柔地说道：“把这个拿给屠户，他会给你你今天的午餐。”狗用嘴叼着纸跑到了屠夫家里。它把纸条给了屠夫。屠户仔细的看了纸条，认出是那位女士的笔迹并且马上按照纸条上的要求做了。这只狗非常高兴，立刻就把肉吃掉了。 到了中午，这只狗又来到了商店。同样它又给了屠夫一张纸条。看过纸条之后，屠夫又一次给了狗半英镑的肉。 第二天，狗又一次在中午准时来到了商店。同往常一样，嘴里叼了一张纸。这一次，屠夫看都没看那张纸条一眼就把肉给了狗，因为他已经把这只狗当成了他的一个顾客。 但是，四点钟的时候狗又来了。于是同样的事又上演了一遍。让屠夫惊奇的是，到六点的时候这只狗又第三次跑过来，并且带来了第三张纸条。屠夫有点迷惑了。他自言自语到：“这只是一条小狗，为什么今天史密斯太太给它这么多肉吃呢？” 看了看纸条，他发现上面一个字都没有。 B 每当太阳升起新的一天到来的时候，父亲和我过去常常到家附件的地方去爬山。我们一起散步的时候，父亲和我总是不停地交谈，从他的经历里我学到很多东西。他总是对我说：“你应当有目标，比如爬上这座山顶。”没有这些山的话——爬山是我们共同的爱好，我们不可能有太多时间在一起相处因为父亲总是很忙。我从这些山——爬山那里学到很多东西。它使我有时间同父亲交谈、进行深入思考，还提高了我的忍耐性。 曾经我们去爬一座非常高的山，这对我而言是一个巨大的挑战因为我当时只有十岁。在开始攀爬的几个小时里，我陶醉在花香、绿树还有小鸟的歌声里。但是随着时间的流逝，我两条腿都变得非常酸痛，我想退出爬山。事实上，我在那一刻甚至开始讨厌爬山了。但是父亲对我说：“在山顶你可以一直看见美丽的天空，但是在到达山顶之前你却看不见。只有到了山顶，你才能看见所有美好的事物，这同生活是一样的道理。” 在一刻，因为年龄太小，我还不能完全理解父亲的话。但是在那不久，我有了新的希望和自信。我发现自己站在天空的顶端，它像水晶一样明亮。

I became a searcher，wanting to find out who I was and what made me unique. My view of myself was changing. I wanted a solid base to start from.
