left只有表示“左翼的,左倾的”时,才有比较级和最高级(lefter, leftest或more left, most left)。

left和right虽是简单的“左”和“右”，但也有特别之处：就河的两岸而言，right bank指的是向下游看在右面的，而left bank是在左面的，好比长江从西向东流时，其南岸和北岸分别为right bank和left bank。
