上周周报推荐了一首歌《House Of Mirrors》。第一次听到这首歌，是因为看美剧《谍网》。当初看这部美剧是因为美剧名字有个谍字，故事场景设定在FBI新兵训练营。看完前几集，发现完全被骗了。此剧大篇幅讲述FBI的新芽子如何互撕，满满地偶像剧画风。我一点也不喜欢这部剧。
问题来了，我一点不喜欢这部剧，英语怎么说？地道的说法会涉及一个非常常见的单词thing，本期就谈谈thing这个单词的常见口语用法吧。
It’s really not my thing. 这个英语表达是不是有点出乎你的意料？
找对象的时候，可能说某个人不适合自己，不是自己的菜，地道口语的说法是He/her is not my type. 当谈到某个东西或者事情是你不喜欢的，你提不起兴趣的，你可以用sth. be（is/are） really not my thing。
这个表达大多数用否定形式，那么表达“很感兴趣，很喜欢，被……迷死了”的地道用法是什么呢？除了一般的I like it/am interested in，常用的是用be／get into sth.
“Genius” just does things to me.
“do things to sb.” 表示某某东西很震撼某人，很让某人感动。类似的一个常用的短语是：blow one’s mind.
iPhone 8 will blow your mind. iPhone 8会让你感到惊艳的。
Do your own thing. 走你自己的路／做自己最想做的事情（不管别人怎么看）
what with one thing and another，I lied to you.
one thing and another，直译是“一件事接着另一件事”，意译就是“种种原因”。
You wouldn’t figure it out. It’s a post-90s thing.
It’s a…thing，指只有特定圈子或者群体才懂的事情。
