A Primary Study of Chongqing College Town College Students' Smoking Prevalence and its FactorsAbstract: the purpose of this paper is to discuss factors that influence college students to smoke and their cognition to the dangers of tobacco, and at the same time provide important information about proposing methods and takeing measures to prevent and control college students' smoking.Methods:Theself-designedquestionnaires wereused to anonymouslyinvestigateon 228studentsin 2 universities of Chongqing College Town who were selected bystratifiedrandomsampling. 222effectivequestionnaireshave been got. The result showed that the total smoking rate is 26.13%,Studentsmajoring inmedicine is 23.98%, sicience majors is 42.31%. Male and female is 42.50% and 6.86% respectively. Male is much higher than female (χ 2= 36.280,P< 0.01). the major social psychological factors of college students smoking are parents and relatives smoking, attitude towards smoke, feel sad, and depression. The conclusion is that college students' smoking rate is high, and there is differences between different genders. Factors are personal, psychological, behavior and environmental factors. According to those factors, measures should be taken in multiple aspects, psychological health education should be put forward, and prevention and control of smoking behavior should be strengthen, too. 在1987年11月，世界卫生组织在日本东京举行的第6届吸烟与健康国际会议上建议把每年的4月7日定为世界无烟日（World No-Tobacco Day），并从1988年开始执行，但从1989年开始，世界无烟日改为每年的5月31日，因为第二天是国际儿童节，希望下一代免受烟草危害。烟草依赖是一种慢性疾病，烟草危害是世界最严重的公共卫生问题之一，吸烟和二手烟暴露严重危害人类健康。
