I'll get you.You're finished,all of you.' He opened the cave door a little and called s kangaroos to come out. As they hopped through the narrow opening,one at a time, he felt their backs with s hands to make sure we were not on them. 'What do we do now?' Peters wspered. 'We can't get out on the kangarros.We're done for.' 'Don't panic,Peters,'I said. 'We can't get out on the kangaroos but we can get out in them. [Here,get inside ts one.'Peters climbed into the giant kangaroo's pocket. A few moments later,he hopped through the door to freedom. 'That's how we all got free,'said Captain King, 'and back to our sp and,eventually,back to the safety of the earth.' 'What happened to Gork?'asked someone. 'Gork? I don't .Maybe he's still in s cave-looking for Nobody.' Everyone laughed except a figure in the captain's garden. It was moving silently towards the house. 开门见山从图入手

牛津小学英语教材图文并茂，每个单元都配有一些与该材料密切联系的插图。利用插图导入新课可以紧紧抓住学生的心理，激发学生的好奇心，好胜心。若在导入这环节能巧妙地结合新授内容，有针对性的指导学生看图，提出一些有趣的问题，则能较好地起到感受直觉、引起注意、循图思考的妙用。例如，在教学《牛津小学英语》6A Unit5 On the farm PartA时，由于话题“农场”距离学生实际生活较远，学生对于新课学习缺乏必要的知识和生活经验，故采用常规化、程式化的导入方式，收效甚微。如果我们先呈现课文中Helen 在农场的场景图，引发学生的好奇心，激活他们的认知图式，再利用问题Where were they?What did they do?与学生交流，就会自然而顺利地导入语篇的话题。

看图知意打下伏笔

培养学生的观察、记忆、思维、想象能力和创新精神是基础教育阶段英语课程的重要任务之一。在小学英语语篇教学中，大多数教师通常采用视听动画、阅读文本等方式直截了当地感知、理解和体验文本。例如，在教学《牛津小学英语》5A Unit3 Hobbies PartA时，在进入文本学习前，我们先呈现对话中Ben和同学们拿着邮票在对话场景图，让学生观察后根据问题What are they doing?预测文本的信息，然后再让学生观看对话的动画来解疑、释疑。由于学生急切想知道他们的预测正确与否，所以在之后的视听对话、理解文本和获取文本信息的过程中他们异常地专注认真，整篇文本的学习就在验证预测结果的过程中轻松顺利地完成。

由此可见，借用插图让学生预测教学内容，不仅可以培养学生观察、想象、推断和探究能力，还可以激发学生的求知欲，提高课堂教学效率。
