因此，这个词的意思已经逐渐演变成一个更负面或特定的术语，如“江湖”，这意味着“混黑社会；老江湖”，于负面人物经历；“江湖险恶”，指的是很多争议很凶残的社会现象等。这都是因为听到了很多次“身在江湖，身不由己”这个短语指的在一个特定的环境中，考虑到周围的人的压力，往往有一些事情自己没有办法控制住的。

有人的地方就是江湖，江湖的概念已经不再是最初的那些简单的概念了，而是一种社会的写照。
