一、定义：
1.电影特技：
电影特技指的是利用特殊的拍摄制作技巧完成特殊效果的电影画面。
2.电影特效：
在影视中，人工制造出来的假象和幻觉，被称为影视特效
二、作用：
1.电影特技：
完成巨大的、困难的甚至危险的摄制任务。提高电影镜头的艺术质量，加强艺术效果。创造全新的电影镜头。节约拍摄时间，降低影片成本。
2.电影特效：
影视作品的内容及片中生物/场景有的完全是虚构的，在现实中不存在，但是需要在影视中呈现出来，所以需要这方面的专业人士为创造和解决。现实在可以存在，但是不可能做出某种特定效果，同样也需要特效来解决。

电影特技是在各种不同题材的影片摄制过程中，遇到一些成本很高、难度大、费时过多、危险性大的摄制任务或现实生活中并不存在的被摄对象和现象，要求摄制一些难于用一般摄制技术方法完成的电影画面时所需要用的拍摄特技。
《变形金刚》、《2012》、《阿凡达》、《盗梦空间》等好莱坞大片在中国市场大卖，这些影片将特效特技在电影中的运用发挥到了极致。中国本土电影这几年在特效特技方面也取得了长足进步。
