operator

移动通信运营商，翻译成carrier。两者区别如下：

一、词义不同

1、operator：经营者；操作员；运营商；话务员；行家

例句：What the number I gave you，operator?  接线员，我给你的号码是多少?

2、carrier： 载体；运送者；带菌者；货架

例句：Our destroyers bore down on the enemy carrier.  我方驱逐舰快速逼近敌人的航空母舰。

二、词性不同

1、operator：多用于指代人。

例句：Operator: Yeah I know. Where do you live though?  接线员：是的，我知道，那你住在哪里呢？

2、carrier：多用于指代物体。

例句：Thailand, Brazil and India each have a carrier, while the US has eleven.

泰国，巴西，和印度，每个国家都有航母，而美国有十一艘。

三、短语搭配不同

1、operator：telephone operator 话务员

例句：Operator: Do you have him on the floor? Where's he at right now?

接线员：你让他平躺在地上了吗？他现在在什么地方？

2、carrier：charge carrier 载流子 ; 载荷子 ; 电荷载子 ; 电荷载劣

例句：Japan's top wireless carrier.  日本头号无线通讯运营商。

Telecommunications Company （电信运营商） 一般的话 Telecom Company 就可以了。专业点就 Telecom Carrier 也就是一级运营商。像ISP（Internet Service Provider）这就属于二级运营商了，二级运营商用主要的是一级运营商的物理网络。
