一、语言知识与能力
1.要求学生能够掌握英语基本知识，了解语言中与英语相关的基本概念，并能在课堂教学中加以运用。
2.具有良好的英语语言运用能力，包括用英语进行书面表达、获取教学资源的信息的能力;并能够筛选并改编适合初中生的学习思路。

3.能够根据教学内容设定合理、明确与具体的教学目标。
四、教学实施与评价
1.掌握英语课堂教学的基本步骤，能够创造教学情景，激发学的动力，引导学生参与学习英语的活动中。
2.掌握并指导学生的学习方法，能依据英语学科和学生的一些特点，反应教学的实际情况，恰当地运用语言讲解等知识，帮助学生更加高效的学习。
3.掌握课堂管理的基本方式，熟悉课堂活动，让学生在课堂上积极参加，并能够经常组织活动，能在教学活动中以学生为中心，提高学生的信心，在课堂教学的不同阶段发挥教师的作用。
4.掌握课堂总结的方法，能适时地对教学内容进行归纳、总结与评价，科学合理地布置作业。

2011年及以前若干年份的高考英语考试大纲，所依据/参照的是教育部2000年颁布的《全日制高级中学英语教学大纲（实验修订版）》。在这份考试大纲中，对语言知识的要求如下所述：“要求考生能够适当运用基本的语法知识（见附录），掌握2000左右的词汇及相关词组［见《全日制高级中学英语教学大纲（试实验修订版）》］。”而教育部考试中心制定的2012年新课改考试大纲则对语言知识部分提出了以下相关要求：“要求考生掌握并能运用英语语音、词汇、语法基础知识以及所学功能意念和话题（见附录1—附录5），要求词汇量为3500左右。”
