topic和theme的区别为：指代不同、用法不同、侧重点不同
一、指代不同
1、topic：话题。
2、theme：主题。
二、用法不同
1、topic：topic普通用词，含义广泛，但其范畴小于subject。既可指文章、讲话的题目，谈话的内容，又可指提纲中的标题甚至段落的主题或中心思想。
2、theme：theme一般指大学或高中生作为作业所写的篇幅有限、较完整论述某个观点的文章。也可指作品或谈话的主要论题。
三、侧重点不同
1、topic：topic指谈话的话题或文章的题目。
2、theme：theme指谈话或文章的主题，即中心思想。
