The deep historical culture of Taierzhuang originated during Han dynasty, developed in Qing dynasty and boomed in Ming and Qing dynasties. The Annals of Yi County written in Qing dynasty records: “Set on both sides of the canal for grain transport, Taierzhuang (Taizhuang) boasts convenient traffic access and prosperous commerce. Residents here live in plenty. As its prosperity and scale are superior to ordinary towns, emperor Qianlong of Qing dynasty conferred the title of the Finest Town in the World on it.” These records indicate Taierzhuang’s booming commerce in the history. In the spring of 1938, Taierzhuang Battle turned this ancient town into ruins.
