Augustus奥古斯都有尊崇、神圣、至尊的意思。罗马帝国的开国君主，统治罗马长达43年的盖乌斯·屋大维，即被尊称为“奥古斯都”（Augustus）。 在他去世后，罗马元老院决定将他列入“神”的行列，并且将8月称为“奥古斯都”月，这也是欧洲语文中8月（August）的来源。

AugustusFirst emperor of Rome (27 b.c. - a.d. 14) and grand-nephew of Julius Caesar. He defeated Mark Antony and Cleopatra in 31 and subsequently gained control over the empire.
