一、left
1、含义：adj. 左边的。adv. 向左。
2、用法：
left的基本意思是“左”，可指“左边，左侧，左部”，是不可数名词。
表示“左翼，社会主义拥护者”时，常与the连用，且大写，是集体名词；在强调整体时，谓语动词用单数形式；强调成员个体时，谓语动词用复数形式。

二、right
1、含义：adj. 正确的；对的；右边的；合适的；重要的；完全的。adv. 正确地；直接地；向右；恰恰，就；立即；完全地。n. 权利；道理；正确；右边；右派。v. 扶直；纠正；公正对待；补偿；恢复平衡。
2、用法：
right的基本意思是“正当的，适当的，合法的”，指某人做某事符合法律的规定，具有合法性，也可指某人做某事或选择某物是“对的，正确的”。
right也可指“右边的，右方的”，与其相对应的是left。right还可指“切合实际的，最适宜的，最恰当的”“良好的，正常的”“真实的，完全的”等。

三、middle
1、含义：adj. 中等的；中间的；中期的。n. 中间。vt. 放在中间；把 ... 对折。
2、用法：
middle用作名词时，意思是“中间，当中，中部”，既可用于空间，又可用于时间。既可指物体两端或两边相等距离的中央或中间部分，也可指一段时间或行动始末的中间一段。
前面一般加定冠词the，只用单数形式。其后一般接介词of。middle也可表示身体的“中部，腰部”，跟waist意思相近。

四、corner
1、含义：n. 角落；转角；困境。v. 将 ... 逼入困境；转弯；垄断。adj. 位于角落的。
2、用法：
corner的基本意思是“角”，是可数名词，指两条线或两条路相交处; 也可作“遥远的地方，天涯海角”解，此时常用复数形式; 引申可指“困境,窘况”，此时可用作可数名词，也可用作不可数名词。

五、under
1、含义：prep. 低于；在 ... 下；在 ... 内；在 ... 控制下。adv. 在昏迷中；在 ... 下。adj. 下面的；从属的；少于的。
2、用法：
under表示静止的空间位置时，意思是“在…的正下方”“在…的下面”; 也可指在某物的脚边或底下，即“在…底下”“在…脚下”; 还可指在人身体某部位之下; 有时还可引申表示“在…遮蔽〔保护〕之下”。
