有的传说里还说，后羿死后英魂不散，变成了打鬼的钟馗神。这一说法是我国著名史学家顾颉刚(1893-1980年)根据《淮南子》等古书的记载考证出来的。这种说法，实际上反映了我国古代人民对这位不幸死去的英雄的无限怀念。
