《白雪公主和七个小矮人》的作者是格林兄弟，格林兄弟出身官员家庭，均曾在马尔堡大学学法律，又同在卡塞尔图书馆工作和任格延根大学教授，1841年同时成为格林科学院院士。
是德国的两位博学多识的学者民间文学研究家、语言学家、历史学家，著有《德语语法》、《古代德国法律》、《德国神话》、《德国语言史》及未及完成的《德语词典》。
但他们最卓越的成就，却是作为世界著名的童话故事搜集家，以几十年时间完成的《儿童和家庭童话集》，即现在俗称的格林童话。
它包括200多篇童话和600多篇故事，其中的代表作如《青蛙王子》、《灰姑娘》、《白雪公主》、《小红帽》等均烩炙人口。

《爱丽丝梦游仙境》的作者刘易斯·卡罗尔，原名查尔斯·路特维奇·道奇森（Charles Lutwidge Dodgson）。十九世纪英国作家，同时也是一位教会执事和牛津大学基督学院数学教师。除《爱丽丝梦游仙境》外，还著有多部数学著作和散文作品。
他生性腼腆并患有严重的口吃，终生都过着单身生活。但他兴趣广泛，对小说、诗歌、数学逻辑谜题、儿童摄影等都颇有造诣。
1862年的一个夏日，卡罗尔带领着牛津大学基督学院院长的三位女儿泛舟于泰晤士河上。在河岸小憩喝茶时，他给孩子们编了一个奇幻故事，主人公的名字便来源于姐妹中最伶俐可爱的七岁小爱丽丝。
