pull指排气制动。

汽车在行驶中，为了避免发生事故，随时要将高速运行的车辆速度变慢，甚至紧急停车，除了采用脚、手制动装置制动外，还可采用关闭油门，不踩离合器踏板，靠运行的汽车强迫发动机加速转动所产生的阻力，来实现牵阻作用，以降低汽车行驶速度。

以一定速度行驶的汽车，驾驶员放松油门踏板，节气门关闭而切断供电；但不分离离合器(使运转的发动机曲轴没有和驱动车轮切断传动)，也不使用其他制动器，而仅仅靠发动机的牵阻作用来迫使其速度降低。

排气制动的注意事项：

1、发动机制动不能代替行车制动用于紧急制动，也不能用于驻车制动；

2、使用发动机制动可以同时使用行车制动；

3、发动机制动模式下，喷油器停止喷油，用户不必再考虑发动机经济转速区的问题；

4、在冰雪路面要禁止使用发动机制动，在湿滑路面要慎用发动机制动。

5、发动机转速较低时，发动机制动效果有限，此时应切换至较低挡位或者使用常规行车制动。

6、下长坡时，应在挡位上使用排气制动，变速器空挡起不到辅助制动作用。
