Weather forecasts have become an important part of our life. During weekends or on holidays, we are accustomed to getting the weather information in the following days before we go out for a picnic or journey. And lots of outdoors activities depend greatly on weather forecasts. Moreover, the weather conditions have been a necessary factor to the industrial and agricultural production. Man learned to predict the weather a long time ago. In ancient times the effect of weather on agriculture was well understood. So people tried to find ways to predict the weather. Many methods and much experience have been handed down since then and still are helpful to us today. Today, meteorologists are working hard to make weather forecasting more accurate. Weather satellites have been launched, which constantly send messages and pictures to the earth. Computers are also widely used to analyze weather information and statistical data. Now we are able to predict weather quite a few days in advance with desirable accuracy. What is more, weather forecasting has already become an important and advanced field in modern science and technology.
