1、any用作形容词的基本意思是“任何一个”，指在三个或三个以上的事物中，强调“无论哪一个”；作此解时，一般用于肯定结构，其后多半修饰不可数名词或单数可数名词，很少修饰复数可数名词。
2、any还可作“一点，一些”解，指某一特定的环境下相对而言的一小部分，引申还可表示“丝毫的，略微的”；作此解时，主要用在疑问句、条件从句及否定句中或者与含有否定意义的词连用，代替some。
3、any用作代词的意思是“无论哪个，无论哪些”，主要用来说明某一特定类型中的各人或对某一集体中的各个成员或对某事物的各个部分。
4、any用作副词时，一般用于否定句、疑问句或if引导的状语从句中，主要用于修饰形容词或副词及其比较级，表示程度上的“稍，略，丝毫”，起强调作用。
