figure的基本意思是“数字”，指用于记录某些数字的特殊代号（通常是从0—9)。figure也可指“图表，图案”，还可指人或动物的“像，画像”，此时多用于绘画中。figure也可指一个人的整体体形，即“身材，体态”。figure还可指“算数”。figure引申可指“人物”“价格”。

表示“保持体形”时用动词keep,“改善体形”用improve。

cut a figure在作“露出…相”解时，figure前常加形容词。

基本数字

百位以内的基数词还是比较好读的one, two, three, four。或者两位数字23，读作twenty-three。

3-4位的数字：

英语中有“百”和“千”的计数单位，所以直接用数字+计数单位+数字就可以。

比如：

105 读作 one hundred (and) five

245 读作 two hundred (and) forty-five

3,286 读作 three thousand two hundred (and) eighty-six

5-6位的数字

处理5位以上的数字时，我们要记得看“逗号”。因为3个数字1个逗号，即三位一节，把三位看成一个整体，后面再加一个单位。

5位的数字在汉语中可以用“万”来表示
