国际音标（IPA，International Phonetic Alphabet），是1888年国际语音协会（International Phonetic Association）的语言学家制定出的一套可国际通用的语音符号叫国际音标符号（IPA—International Phonetic Alphabet）。
希望以一个符号代表一音，避免各人使用一套自己的符号所产生的不便。
国际音标，如其名，是设计来标注国际各种语言的发音的，很多语言学家把国际音标做局部修改以标记他们所研究的语言，所以国际音标也有很多种。
