油的英文单词

“油腻”的第一层意思是形容食物或者皮肤很油。

1. oily 油的；油质的

oil是名词“油”的意思，-y是形容词结尾，所以oily就是形容词“油腻的”。油性皮肤和油性头发也可以用oily来形容。

This is a shampoo for oily hair. 这是适用于油性头发的洗发液。

2. greasy 油腻的；含脂肪多的

相比 oily 而言，greasy带有更多贬义，比如： greasy food 油腻的食物/greasy hair 油腻的头发/ greasy skin 油腻的皮肤。

I am not a big fan of greasy food, so I prefer Cantonese cuisine. 我不是很喜欢油腻食物，所以我更喜欢广东菜。

“油腻”的第二层意思是形容人说话油腔滑调、不真诚。

1. oily 油腔滑调的

oily还有一层意思： too friendly and polite in a way that is not sincere (过于友好和礼貌，以至于显得不真诚)，也就是我们常说的油腔滑调。

He is such an oily person that I don't trust anything that comes out of his mouth. 他很油腔滑调，以至于我不相信他口中说的任何东西。

2. greasy 谄媚的；滑头的；虚情假意的

greasy也有一层意思是：too polite and friendly in a way that seems insincere or unpleasant，可以用来形容人过分虚伪、谄媚、甚至是肮脏不检点等等。

Greasy people can never acquaint themselves with sincere friends. 虚情假意的人永远都不可能交到真心朋友。

3. fulsome 过分恭维的，有太多溢美之词的，虚伪的

full是形容词，表示“满”的意思，而fulsome就是比“满”还要多，也就是“太油腻”了。

His praise for me is so fulsome and insincere that I barely believe in what he said. 他对我的溢美之词太油腻了，我都几乎不能相信他说的话。

4. cheesy 不诚恳的，虚伪的

cheesy这个词非常生动形象，cheese本身是“奶酪”的意思，奶酪吃多了非常油腻，所以用cheesy这个词来翻译“油腻”非常恰当好处。

The slogan for their brand-new product is too cheesy. 他们新产品的标语太油腻了。

第三层意思还可以形容中年发胖的男子，像我们经常在网络上说的“油腻的中年男”。

1. portly 肥胖的，发福的

portly一般形容中年男子发福、发胖的样子。

Once a man reaches his middle age, he will become a portly middle-aged man. 一旦男人到了中年，就变成油腻的中年男子了。

2. tubby 肥胖的

tubby一般形容又矮又胖，身材像桶一样的人。

If you don't want to be a tubby middle-aged man, you'd better go to the gym more often. 如果你不想成为油腻的中年男子的话，你最好经常去健健身。
