波士顿龙虾的形态特征：
1、波士顿龙虾的体长：从20 ~ 60 厘米不等，体重从 ½ ~ 4 公斤不等；但根据金氏世界记录，最大的波士顿龙虾重达20.14公斤，全长从尾部到大螯尖端为1.06米，1977年捕获于加拿大新斯科舍外海，是世界上可长到最重的海洋甲壳类。
2、波士顿龙虾的体色：正常为橄榄绿或绿褐色，橘色、红褐色或黑色的个体也不难见到，但约200万分之一为蓝色；黄色变异更罕见，出现机率约3000万分之一。
3、波士顿龙虾的螯足：有别于其它种类的龙虾，波士顿龙虾有两个硕大、肉质丰厚的前螯，其重量约占龙虾体重的15%。第一步足为一对大螯，一侧的螯稍大于另一侧。体表光滑，触角较细。
波士顿龙虾的生活习性：
1、波士顿龙虾的生境：波士顿龙虾生活于浅海的岩礁中或在沙砾底挖孔生活。
2、波士顿龙虾的食性：波士顿龙虾以鱼类、其他小型甲壳类及贝类为食，偶尔也会吃海中植物。天敌则有鳕鱼、比目鱼和其他龙虾等。
