motivate的基本意思为“激发”“诱发”，可指激发某人的积极性或兴趣（做某事）,也可指某种目的驱使某人犯错等。
motivate是及物动词，其宾语可以是人，也可以是action之类的名词，还可以接以动词不定式充当补足语的复合宾语。可用于被动结构。
