通知行（advising bank,notify bank)：是受开证行的委托将信用证转交或通知出口商的银行保兑行（confirming bank):是应开征行的请求在信用证上加具保兑的银行，具有与开证行相同的责任议付行（negotiating bank): 指自己垫付资金买入或贴现受益人开立和提交的符合信用证规定的跟单汇票的银行

信用证方式有三个特点：

一是信用证是一项自足文件（self-sufficient instrument）。信用证不依附于买卖合同，银行在审单时强调的是信用证与基础贸易相分离的书面形式上的认证；
