网上对于学习英语好处的讨论有很多，比如能够获取更多信息，扩大视野，获得更好的工作机会等。今天我想在这里补充一个新的角度：学习英语能够让我们的思考更加深刻。

怎样理解上面这句话呢？我们可以从三个方面入手：

建立更多新的概念

我们所讲的语言会影响我们的思维吗？答案是肯定的。语言与思维之间存在密切的联系，我们很大一部分思维活动都是借助语言来表达，而我们所讲的语言也会反过来塑造我们的思维方式。事实上，我们脑海中的很多概念都以词语为依托，如果我们所说的语言里没有对某个事物的概念，即使那个事物真实存在，我们也很容易对其视而不见。

提升逻辑思维能力

汉语和英语两种语言所代表的思维方式有所不同：汉语更加倾向于环式思维，注重抽象和整体认识；英语倾向于直线思维，注重于归纳推理。汉语在语言上强调意识流，只要能表达出相应的意思，词语和句子的形式有时候无关紧要。而英语更加侧重于理性和逻辑，因此，英语往往要通过一个清晰合理的词形和语法，来表达一个清晰合理的思想，具有严格和规范的单词和语法系统。

更好地认识汉语

这句话听上去似乎有点矛盾，但学习一门外语确实能够增加我们对母语的理解。这是因此在学习外语的过程中我们会不断将其与母语比较，从而能够以一个新的角度来审视自己的母语。比如，通过学习英文写作，我们的逻辑思维会变得更加严谨，这种思维也会反过来作用于汉语，使得我们的汉语表达更有条理性。观察一下身边英文口语和写作不错的人，他们的中文表达通常也很不错。
