avoid、refrain from、avert等等。

avoid是一个英语单词，可以用作及物动词，可以翻译为避开、避免，等等。

v.(动词)vt. 回避; 避开; 躲避 try not to do sth; try not to go near sb or sthvt。

预防; 防止 prevent sth bad from happening, or stop oneself from doing (sth)。

形容词: avoidable副词: avoidably 名词: avoider。

词语用法：

1、英语语法中只有avoid sth和avoid doing sth这两种用法，avoid to do sth是不存在的！

2、avoid sth和avoid doing sth都表示避免的意思，不同点在于avoid sth后边接的是名词/代词，而avoid doing sth后边接的是动名词（即动词要改成ing形式）。

例如：No one can avoid  his own responsibility.  没有人能够逃避自己的责任。

He'll grab at any excuse to avoid doing the dishes.  他会随便找个借口来逃避洗碗。
