而reference不但可以作为名词使用（意思和citation类似），它还可以作为动词使用，表示查阅；参考；给(书等)附参考资料等。

2、引用内容不同

citation是指所引用的内容，可以是名言或者某本书某个研究的观点。例如：

当reference作为名词使用时，有以下用法：

1、作为不可数名词：提到，说到，涉及；它一般采用句式是reference to sb/sth，例如：
