点菜的英文两种

你要点菜了吗？ Are you ready to order?我们还没点菜呢。 We haven't ordered yet.您要点菜吗？ Can I take your order?

点菜有两种方式，一是a la carte（随意点菜），一是tabled' hote或fixed price meal（份饭，套餐），后一种有几道固定的菜肴和饮料，价格也是固定的。它的优点就是方便快捷，点菜时只需指着菜单说： Please give me this one. （请给我来这个。）

在饭店坐下后一般是先要菜单，如果桌上没有，而服务员又没有主动送过来，你可以这样说：waiter，menu， please！orwaiter，may I have the menu ， please？然后 waiter 站在你旁边，你就可以开始 “order” 了，告诉他你要什么：I'll have some chicken soup，a steak and potatoes，………，some beer， please。也就是说客人“点菜”一般不用“order”，而是说“I'll have some……”。但是“order”有时可以这样说：Yesterday evening John invited some friends to a Chinese restaurant to have meal ，John ordered lots of dishes and drinks，so they had a good time。
