这题我会。 sit和seat词性不同；读法也不相同；
sit是不及物动词,意思为坐下,不能接宾语seat.可以用作名词“座位”,也可以用作及物动词,表示让某人就坐--seat sb,
也常见be seated,表示坐下,坐好的状态。

【区别和用法】
01 sit
不规则动词，过去式和过去分词都是sat:
基本用法：
1，坐：
They sat on a park bench.
他们坐在公园的长凳上。
The students sit in a circle on the floor.
学生们围坐在地板上。
Come and sit here beside me.
过来坐在我旁边。
Can I sit next to you?
我能坐在你旁边吗？
He took off his coat and sat down.
他脱下外套坐下。
She sat up in bed, listening.

2，使坐;使就座（=seat）：

以上“使某人坐/就座”，现代英语里，我们更习惯用sit;
seat oneself，不用sit oneself：
She seated herself at her desk.
她在桌子旁坐下。
He seated himself behind the desk.
他坐在桌子后面。
He seated himself on the sofa.
他坐在了沙发上。
常用被动结构be seated：
John was seated on my left.
约翰坐在我的左边。
Please be seated so we can start the meeting.
