两者汉译过来都是“在。。。。底部”

虽然汉译过来两个短语貌似一样， 但在英语中两个不同的介词已经间接地表明了它们之间的不同：

1. I found nothing in the bottom of my bag.

我在我袋子的底部什么都没找到。

分析： 指在整个底部搜寻，结果无所获。

2. A tall tree stands at the bottom of the hill.

山脚下有一颗很高的树。

分析：树是在山脚的某一点。

底部,什么杯子瓶子山谷的底部,就是它了

bottomn.底部, 基部, 下端, 末尾; 水底The water drained out of the flowerpot through the hole in the bottom.水从花盆底部的洞漏出去。尽头, 末端I'll walk with you to the bottom of the road.我和你一起走到路的尽头。臀部, 屁股She smacked a child's bottom.她打孩子的屁股。

in the bottom of与at the bottom of的区别为：意思不同、用法不同、侧重点不同。

一、意思不同

1、in the bottom of：在…的底部。

2、at the bottom of：是…的根源。

二、用法不同

1、in the bottom of：bottom的基本意思是“底部”“基部”“下端”“末尾”，多指物体的最下的部分，只用作单数可数名词，引申可指“(东西的)底”，“尽头”“末端”“根源”“起因”“最无关紧要的部分”等。

2、at the bottom of：bottom作“臀部”“屁股”解时，常用于口语或非正式文体中，是可数名词。表示“在底部”通常用介词at，指小容器的“底部”时也可用in，当底部是一个宽广的平面时则可用on。

三、侧重点不同

1、in the bottom of：物体本身的底部（如杯子内侧的底部）。

2、at the bottom of：底端（如在每一页的底部）。
