staff和faculty相同之处是都指全体职员，区别为：意思不同、用法不同、侧重点不同。
一、意思不同
1、staff：全体职工(或雇员)，(大、中、小学的)管理人员，行政人员。

二、用法不同
1、staff：staff的名词意思是“全体职员”，转化为动词则表示“为某部门配备人员或担任某部门的工作人员”。staff是及物动词，接名词或代词作宾语。可用于被动结构。staff表示“全体人员”，指得是一个整体，不是单个人。如一个公司是一个staff，两公司就是两个staffs。
2、faculty：faculty作“全体教职员，全体从业人员”解时是可数集合名词，有单复数形式，当其单数形式作主语时，其谓语动词可为单数，也可为复数。
