一、吃粽子

粽子又称“角黍”，“筒粽”，在晋代被正式定为端午节食品。在当时，粽子还用作礼尚往来之物。如今，粽子的花色品种更为繁多。从馅料看，北方多包小枣的北京枣粽，南方以浙江嘉兴粽子为代表。吃粽子的风俗，千百年来，在中国盛行不衰，而且流传到东亚及东南亚等国。

I. Eating Zongzi

Zongzi, also known as "Corn Millet" and "Tube Zongzi", was officially designated as Dragon Boat Festival food in Jin Dynasty. At that time, zongzi was also used as a ritual object. Nowadays, there are more varieties of rice dumplings. From the stuffing point of view, Beijing jujube zongzi with many small bags in the north is represented by Jiaxing zongzi in Zhejiang Province in the south. The custom of eating zongzi has been prevalent in China for thousands of years and spread to East Asia and Southeast Asia.

二、赛龙舟

赛龙舟前，先要请龙、祭神。人们祭祀龙神庙时气氛很严肃，多祈求农业丰收、风调雨顺、去灾异、事事如意，也保佑划船平安。划龙舟时，多有唱歌或念口号助兴。声音雄浑壮美，扣人心弦，也增加赛龙舟时的氛围。

2. Dragon Boat Race

Before the Dragon Boat race, please invite the dragon and worship the God first. When people worship the Dragon Temple, the atmosphere is very serious. They pray for a good harvest in agriculture, good weather, disaster relief, good luck in everything, and also for the safety of boating. When rowing dragon boats, there are often singing or chanting slogans to cheer up. The sound is magnificent and exciting, which also increases the atmosphere of dragon boat racing.

三、挂艾草

民谚说：“清明插柳，端午插艾”。艾草所产生的奇特芳香，可驱蚊蝇、虫蚁，净化空气。是提神通窍、健骨消滞、杀虫灭菌的良物。端午节在家门口挂艾草，就像贴上一道灵符，可以趋利避害。人们一般会将艾草绑成一束，然后插在门楣上，或是在门楣两端分别插上一根艾草。

The folk proverb says, "Put willows in the clear sky and Ai in the Dragon Boat Festival". The peculiar aroma produced by argyrophytes can repel mosquitoes, flies and ants and purify the air. It is a good product for invigorating the mind and promoting the resuscitation, invigorating the bones and eliminating stagnation, insecticidal and sterilization. Dragon Boat Festival hangs mugwort at the door of the house, just like putting a magic charm on it, which can be beneficial and avoid harm. People usually tie a bunch of mugwort and insert it on the lintel, or insert a mugwort on both ends of the lintel.

Tzungtzu (粽子)is a special kind of dumpling like dumplings. When it became known that Chu Yuan was gone forever, the people, living along the river, threw cooked rice into the water as a sacrifice(祭品) to their dead hero. They wrapped(包) rice in bamboo leaves(粽叶), and stuffed(填满) it with ham, beans, bean paste(豆沙), salted egg yokes, sausages, nuts, and/or vegetables.

Dragon Boat FestivalThe first Dragon Boat Festival was held（举行）in Hunan. Every year, people always have a dragon boat match. The dragon boat is quite long. There are pictures of dragons on each side. The front of the boat is like the head of a dragon. Each team（队）of the match has twenty members. Beside them there is a man on the boat. He beats a drum（敲鼓）. It’s an exciting match, especially（特别是）when they are getting the end. The audience（观众）beside the lake shout for their favourite teams. From this match, we have the name of the festival---Dragon Boat Festival.This special（特殊的）festival has another（另一个）name---Duanwu Festival. It has a story. The story is about a poet called Qu Yuan.龙舟赛第一个龙舟赛是在湖南举行的。每一年，人们总是要举行这样一个比赛，比赛的龙舟是很长的，在船壁上有一幅幅的有龙的图画。最前面的龙舟像龙首一样，龙舟赛的成员有20个，在他们的旁边有一个人坐在船上，他就是专门负责敲鼓的。这是一个激动人心的赛事，特别之处在于将要结束的部分。观众们在湖边挥舞使劲朝他们最喜欢的队伍呐喊。从这个比赛，我们可以得出一个名字——龙舟赛。这个特殊的节日还有另外的名字，——端午节，端午节还有一个故事，这个故事是讲述伟大的诗人屈原的事。
