大门上的福字一定要正贴，意为“开门迎福”，倒着贴会把福气挡在门外。
“福”字的偏旁“礻”有祈神的意思，而“畐”可拆分为“一”“口”“田”，即一个家里的每个人都有饭吃、有工作做、有学可上，就是福。
如果把福字倒贴了，就失去了它本来的意义。倒贴福字，不是福“到”了，而是把福“倒掉”了。
