Image fusion is two or more images together to obtain the same scene more precise, more comprehensive, more reliable image description. Fusion should make full use of complementary information of all of the original image, so that the fused image is more suitable for human visual perception, the need for further analysis; and should be unified coding, data compression, in order to facilitate transmission. In recent years, image fusion technique is widely used in automatic target recognition, computer vision, remote sensing, robotics, medical imaging and military applications and other fields. Many image fusion methods, mainly HIS transform, wavelet transform, cluster analysis, principal component analysis (PCA) transform. This article discusses the basic principle of image fusion, and the use of image fusion method: principal component analysis transform, HIS transform, wavelet transform. TM image has higher spectral resolution, while the SPOT image has higher spatial resolution, using image fusion technology and high-resolution multi-spectral image fusion images can be obtained at the same time a multi-spectral and high resolution features with image, improve image measurement range and accuracy.
