在教科室覃主任的领导下,我校正在掀起一股“有效课堂教学模式”的课题研究热潮,不管走到哪里,都会听到老师们谈论课题的声音。我个人觉得在新课标下在我们这样的农村高中进行“有效课堂教学”研究是非常及时,也非常必要。因此,我借着这股东风积极投入到这个研究活动中去,我所研讨的内容就是“高中英语阅读自主学习模式”,经过整整一年的学习,摸索和研讨,已基本取得一些实践经验,课堂教学效率和学生的学习效率有了一定的提高,但要形成自己的教学模式,打造高效课堂还有很长一段路要走,现把我的想法和做法做如下陈述:
一、改变观点
长期以来英语教学都是老师讲的多,学生听的多,学生活动的极少,学生处于被动接受知识的状态,这样课堂气氛死气沉沉,学习效果差。比如,前几年我一直带的理科普通班,学生基础可以说及差,我总是认为只有多讲才能提高学生的成绩,课堂上我讲个不停,生怕耽误一分钟,生怕内容讲不完,结果学生在下面听着就睡着了,我只顾着讲课,有时学生甚至倒一片。一节课下来,效果可想而知。再者,我也认为学生基础这么差,放手让学生自己干,那等于让他们白白浪费时间,不相信他们自己能学到什么东西。我的这个观点真是吃力不讨好,苦了老师,也害了学生。在这次课题研究活动中,我就仔细地思考这个问题,下决心要解决这个问题,要改变课堂状况。于是我改变了自己的教学观,把学生的自主学习策略应用到课堂上来,开始进行学生阅读自主学习研讨。
二、制订阅读自主学习的具体教学模式
英语阅读自主学习策略的具体形式是多种多样的,在今年的教学实践中,我结合自己学生的实际情况制定如下的一种模式。其基本程序是:1预习发现问题2自己解决问题3在老师的帮助下分析问题4课后练习学习方法5自我反思和评价
这一模式实际上是一个发现问题、分析问题、解决问题的循环反复不断升华的过程。并且鼓励学生把问题的探索和发现过程延续到课外的学习内容之中,形成自主探究的习惯和能力,为他们的未来发展和终身学习奠定良好的基础。
三、自主学习需要引导
引导学生正确的自主学习是非常重要的。尤其是在课堂教学中,提问和启发学生从各种不同的角度进行分析,思考,探求问题的解答,造成学生自觉的为实现教学目标而努力的态
势。要诱发学生学习的主动性,使课堂气氛紧紧围绕教师的言语和教学思路,产生积极的心里情感,变“要我学”为“我要学”。要尽可能让学生动手,动口,动眼,动脑,使学生积极参与教学活动,并能自主地投入到教学过程中去,从而品尝获取知识的愉悦。
我今年带的二(6)班是一个理科普通班,10个女生,40多个男生,开学后的第一次考试,班上最高分是52分,全班平均分30几分,对于这样基础的学生进行阅读教学真是无从下手。首先,我从课文的“生词”入手,所谓的“生词”是指以前学过但又忘记的词和本单元的新词,我发动学生预习课文时把它们一一找出来,通过查找课后生词表和词典把意思写下来,这样一遍下来,学生对课文大意有了一半的了解,学生也有了一些成就感,学生对学习活动有了积极性,愿意跟着老师转,有了“我要学”的欲望。我通过这样反复的训练,学生已形成习惯,学生都知道怎样预习课文了,现在上课没有一个睡觉的,没有一个不动手的。
四、师生互动解决难点
阅读最重要的一点即把握文章主旨。教师可引导学生利用各种阅读技巧由易而难,由简入繁,由基本了解文章内容到深入触及文章内涵。对于难点的解决可采用各种方式如Question&Answer师生一对一,学生一对一或者自由讨论等。
我在教Unit4ANightTheEarthDidn’tSleep一文时,在while-reading这个环节我设置了三个任务:
任务一:Skimming,我设置了一些像trueorfalse这样比较简单的题目,通过快速阅读来寻找答案。这一步的目的一是想让学生在有限的时间内快速而准确的找出一些相关信息,训练阅读速度。二是从简单的题目入手,让学生有兴趣,有信心开始进入阅读课文的学习,为后面的学习铺路。
任务二:Scan,浏览课文,使学生找出每段的主旨大意。这一步的目的是使学生找出这篇文章的线索,理解这篇文章的整体框架结构。在这个学习过程中,老师对学生要进行学法指导,告诉学生找每段的主旨大意就是找每段的中心句,每段的'中心句一般位于该段句首或句尾,并且是概括性语言,通过老师这样一指点,学生就觉得不困难了,学生迅速地开始找起来,哪怕成绩最差的学生都能开口说答案了。这样长期训练下来,每次上阅读课文时在这个环节上很顺手,即使学生遇到困难,答案不一致,自然的他们会积极的去争论,有时甚至争的脸通红,这时问题就迎刃而解了。
任务三:Carefulreading,让学生仔细阅读和重新学习这篇课文来找出一些长难句子和优美的句子,然后尝试分析,理解,记住和运用它们。这一步的目的是培养学生理解,欣赏和运用语言的能力。在理解这些长难句子时,学生肯定是有一定困难的,我一般是把这些句子
板书在黑板上,请一些学生上来分析句子,发现他们的问题所在,老师再进行启发,引导,让学生找出答案,并用不同颜色的粉笔标记出来。在学生理解后,要求学生背诵一些优美的句子,然后做一些类似的仿写和完成句子的练习进行巩固。
经过这一年的教学实践,英语阅读自主学习教学模式已有了一些收获,如何优化英语阅读教学方式,提高学生自主阅读能力,形成完美的教学模式,还需要我们在今后的英语教学实践中不断探索与发现,不断的学习与创新,提高自己的教学能力,提高学生的学习成绩。
1引言
就高中英语教学而言,培养和发展学生的自主学习能力,是英语语言学习方式和教学方式的重大变革,也是新一轮高中英语课程改革中亟待探讨的重大课题。在新的课程背景下,英语教学正逐渐从注重语言知识的掌握转向关注对人的教育,强调对学生自主学习能力和终身学习能力的培养。高中英语新课程标准要求教师改变传统的教学方式,优化学生的英语学习方式,加强对学生学习策略的培养,从而提高其自主学习能力。本文以新课改为背景,分别对自主学习的含义以及我国现今高中生英语自主学习状况进行分析,最后提出培养高中生英语自主学习能力的策略。
2自主学习的含义
20世纪50年代,教育界提出了“自主学习”的理论,这是对传统教育方法的反思和不断地探索发展而来的。HenriHolec(1981)首先将这一概念引入外语教学中,他明确指出外语教学的目标就是既要帮助学生获取语言技能,又要帮助他们获得自主学习能力,即教学生学会学习。目前,国内外教育界对于自主学习还没有一个统一的定义,根据庞维国《自主学习—学与教的原理和策略》(2003)一书介绍,国内外在开展自主学习的研究中,出现了众多与之有关的术语:如自我调节学习、主动学习、自我教育、自我指导、自我计划的学习、自律的学习、自我定向的学习、自我管理的学习、自我监控的学习等。通过查阅了解国内外学者对自主学习的界定,可归纳总结出自主学习即学习者对自身学习的管理。具体地讲就是指学生通过教师的科学指导,围绕教师确定的学习目标,自主地选择学习方法,自我监控学习过程,逐步自主评价学习结果。
3我国高中生英语自主学习现状
通过大量查阅有关我国高中生英语自主学习调查研究的文献资料,研究发现:高中生有一定的学习动机,他们普遍认为英语学习很重要,并将英语学习与自己的前途相联系,很多学生在不感兴趣的情形下,为了考出好成绩,也能强迫自己坚持学习英语。但英语自主学习能力普遍较低,不懂得英语学习策略的使用,学习缺乏计划、管理和自我监督能力;学习兴趣不浓;另外,英语自主学习能力也因性别、学校类型的不同存在很大差异。女生的自主学习能力高于男生;重点高中学生强于普通高中学生。针对我国高中生英语自主学习现状中存在的不良情况,要求英语教师提供给学生一些英语自主学习策略,提高学生的英语自主学习能力。
4培养高中生英语自主学习能力的策略
4.1转换师生观念,培养学生的主体意识:自主学习不等于自学,而是指学生在教师指导下,自觉地运用元认知策略、动机策略和行为策略,主动而有效地进行学习的方式。实施自主学习,所要走的第一步是要改变观念,教师改变教学观念和学生改变学习观念,转换师生角色,构建自主学习的理念;另外,还要营造宽松环境,提倡课堂互动。
4.2激发学生内在学习动机:正如著名学者文秋芳教授所言(1995),在教师与学生构成的双边活动中,学习者是学习成功的第一要素,是内因,其它因素都可视为外因。在教学中,教师应注重激发学生的学习动机,培养其求知兴趣,变“要我学”为“我要学”。这就要求教师去发掘学生闪光点,提高其自我效能感;创设良好教学情景,增强学生的英语学习兴趣。
4.3加强学法指导和训练:教会学生如何学习英语,养成良好的自学习惯,是英语教学的一项重要任务。让学生掌握有效的英语学习方法,养成自主学习的习惯,不但会提高学生的学习效率,而且会使学生终身收益。例如,对学生进行词汇技能训练,语法技能训练,阅读技能训练,听力技能训练等。
4.4培养学生自我监控的学习能力:随着教改的深入,学生能否运用自我监控策略愈来愈成为制约教学质量提高的关键因素。教师除了对学生进行评估外,也要鼓励并帮助学生学会自我评估,帮助他们监控学习过程,并鼓励学生互评。研究证明,学生的自我监控具有很大的可塑性,运用适当的教育和教学措施能极大地促进学生自我监控策略使用的有效性。总之,英语自主学习能力的形成和发展要经历一个渐进的、相对漫长的过程,这就需要将培养学生英语自主学习能力作为一项长期的任务,渗透到学生日常的学习和生活之中。实践证明,对学生英语自主学习能力的培养是个复杂的系统工程,更多的方法、手段需要教育工作者不断地去摸索、实践,因此,这对教师提出了更高的要求,教师必须努力提高自身素质,转变教学模式及方法,转变师生角色,培养学生自主学习英语的能力,让学生真正成为学习的主人。

首先是英语单词的记忆。词汇是学习英语的基础,没有丰富的词汇打地基,英语的大厦是建不起来的。我从初中学英语到现在,词汇量就那么常见的几百个,老师不强制,我也不是很重视。但这个学期张雷老师采取了划分重点,触类旁通和当众鼓励的办法,让我一点点地渴望记忆更多的单词。我们十五组有许多英语高手,每次听写完后总有一两个拿满分的组员,我的基础比较差,刚开始只有十四分的样子,但榜样就在身边,我也希望能有让老师和全班同学认识我的机会,所以每次都很努力地记单词,一个学期下来,渐渐掌握了一些记单词的方法,比如,通过听、说、读、记的多方位来记单词,或者分类、分组的方式等,我从最初要花一整天的时间记一个单元的单词到只需一节课就能把单词准确无误地记下来,自己觉得进步很大,到最后,老师对优秀的同学进行表扬时,终于也有我的名字了,我感到自己的努力有了回报。
再者就是听力。我以前考听力的时候都是模模糊糊的感觉,好像脑子里一团浆糊,只能听懂大概的意思,然后蒙答案。经过一个学期的训练,我现在不仅能听清楚对话的内容,有时还能复述其中的句子。这对我这种基础差的学生来说,是一个很大的进步。这要归功于张老师的训练,老师知道会有部分学生不会自觉地去听、去练,所以在课堂上从不间断的放听力材料,并且不是放完就算了,老师还会给我们分析怎样听的方法,哪些题的错误率高,那种类型的题要多多注意等等,有时会叫同学回答问题,因为怕答不出来,所以我每次都很认真地在听。感觉我们不是单纯地在训练听力,而同时也在掌握考试方法。
最后是作文。作文是我最头疼的事情。本来我词汇就不多,再出两个语法上的错误,作文成绩就一直没上去。但张老师从基本的作文结构开始,一点一点地传授方法。虽然总体上没什么大的提升(作文要有大提升也不是短时间内解决得了的),但格式,结构,一些常见的错误还是知道了,至少考试时老师挑不出一些常识性的毛病,基本能拿个几个的分数,要知道我有一次考试只拿了三分!看出进步了吧!
其实上课的时候进步的不仅仅是英语能力,还有许多其他方面的才能。比如有一次张老师选中英文司仪,我是我们组的英文司仪,其实紧张得声音都在发抖了,但还是坚持下来了,为我们组赢得加分我很高兴,但我战胜了自己更高兴。总之,这个学期的学习是非常有成效的,希望我能继续保持这个状态。
我想给自己一个A-的分,因为我觉得学习的重点不是起点也不是终点,而是在这个过程中你掌握了什么,进步了多少,这就是我的收获!
