◎ party 政党 一听到 party 这个字,很多人都会联想到「派对」的意思 。但在政治的领域里,party 这个字的意思是「政党」。 例如:执政党的英文是 ruling / governing party,而反对党的英文则是 opposition party。 ◎ primary election 内部初选 在政党提出侯选人参选之前,多半会先经过内部的初选,好推出最有希望的人选赢得选举。primary 的意思是「最初的」,所以 primary election 指的就是党内初选喔! ◎ nomination 提名 A: I heard that the petition for the presidential nomination was fierce.
