普利策新闻奖 普利策新闻奖是新闻界的最高奖项,此外还有 世界新闻摄影荷赛奖和罗纳德·里根新闻奖,我们国内也有“中国新闻奖”、“韬奋新闻奖”、 “范长江新闻奖”和“全国百佳新闻工作者”四大奖项。1917年根据美国报业巨头约瑟夫·普利策(Joseph Pulitzer)的遗愿设立,上世纪七八十年代已经发展成为美国新闻界的一项最高荣誉奖,不断完善的评选制度已使普利策奖被视为全球性的一个奖项。普利策奖在每年的春季,由哥伦比亚大学的普利策奖评选委员会的十四名会员评定,5月由哥伦比亚大学校长正式颁发。普利策奖分为两类,新闻界和创作界。普利策奖也是一个鼓励美国的奖。新闻界的获奖者可以是任何国籍 ,但是获奖条目必需在美国周报(或日报)中发表的。创作界获得者必须是美国公民,唯一例外是历史奖。只要是关于美国历史的书都可获奖,作者不必是美国人。罗纳德.里根新闻奖每年在世界上仅授予一名在体育报道中表现杰出的记者(包括电视、广播、报刊、杂志、摄影或著名的电影演员)。获奖者须在现代社会的体育领域中,表现出使公众认可的想象力、激情、勇气和天分。“WPP”这三个大写英文字母的组合,是“世界新闻摄影”,即 World Press Photo三个英文字头的缩写,成为一年一度在荷兰首都阿姆斯特丹举行的世界新闻摄影比赛的专有名词。由于这一比赛是荷兰人发起并主办,所以中国摄影界习惯地称之为“荷赛”。
