花卉品种的不同，花朵形态以及颜色都不同。普遍花色有粉色、白色、红色等，形状为喇叭形、扇形或圆形等，有单瓣、半重瓣、重瓣。玫瑰花的花朵颜色丰富，花瓣层叠生长，有香味。杜鹃花的花序为漏斗形，花瓣卵形，春季开花。
月季花四季开花，花朵从内向外呈发散型。梅花有香味，花瓣为白色至粉红色，花萼红褐色。
