粮食危机是指全球性的粮食短缺、产量锐减、价格涨幅过快，以至造成了近40年来前所未有的粮食恐慌与危机。2014年，粮农组织发布的《粮食不安全状况2014》报告指出，世界饥饿人口已达10.2亿，创历史最高水平。该组织还宣称，这还不包括那些正在遭受维生素缺乏、营养不足和其他形式营养不良的人，遭遇粮食安全困扰的人其总人数可能接近30亿——约占世界总人口的一半。

Food crisis refers to the global food shortage, sharp drop in output and rapid price increase, resulting in unprecedented food panic and crisis in recent 40 years. In 2014, the Food Insecurity Report 2014 issued by FAO pointed out that the number of hungry people in the world has reached 1.02 billion, the highest level in history.

The organization also claims that this does not include those who are suffering from vitamin deficiency, malnutrition and other forms of malnutrition. The total number of people suffering from food security may be close to 3 billion-about half of the world's total population.
